A Newly Gated Paradise Valley Estates

..

gate

Thanks to a generous donation from the DeLong-Sweet Family Foundation, the Paradise Valley Estate front entrance is adorned with secure and elegant new gates. Three sections, two for incoming traffic and one for exiting, are each painted a “powder-coated” (very durable) green with the custom Paradise Valley Estate logo.

Don’t fret that someone might be tempted to abscond with a gate; each section weighs about 300 pounds. Six motors, with 12-volt back-up batteries to deal with electrical outages, swing the gate sections open and shut with ease. In the unlikely event that both electrical power and batteries fail, a manual disconnect will allow the gates to be opened by hand.

Resident card readers (now in use) or security personnel will open the gates for incoming traffic, and they automatically close. When one exits by car, the gates will function automatically in response to buried coils or when operated within the entrance office.

A dedication plaque is displayed prominently on the forward post for all to see as they enter. The plaque reads: “Amy Wycliffe DeLong-Wallace Memorial Gates 2009.”
