The
New Assisted Living Building Construction
is Moving Ahead at a Steady Pace!
Paradise Valley Estates, (PVE), is pleased to announce
that plans have been approved for the construction of a new, comprehensive
Assisted Living building. The Haskell Company, of Jacksonville, Florida,
has been selected as contractor for this project.
To be completed in mid 2007, this new three (3) story structure will
house 40 one-bedroom “social model” apartments. The new “social model” provides
a home-like environment with more independent living services.
Our residents will be able to enjoy such amenities as a community “country” kitchen,
library, beauty/barber shop, spa, and a new expanded Wellness Clinic. This addition
will enhance our current continuum of care.
The new 43,000 square foot Assisted Living building will be attached to the current
Recreation Center, which is situated in the heart of the campus. An additional
4,200 square feet will be added to the Recreation Center to accommodate the residents
ever expanding fitness program.

To everyone's delight the newly re-located
Estates Drive has been opened allowing us to remove all the detour
signs. With the addition of the sidewalks, beautiful landscaping
and new greenery that was planted, we are all enjoying the lovely boulevard.

We had watched the erection of more than 240 tons
of steel beams and columns with great excitement. Once completed
the structure of the building was established and continues to move
along at a steady pace.
With the completion of the steel frame, metal studs began to arrive for
the interior and exterior walls and partitions. This has also allowed
the concrete slab floorings to be poured. With the completion of
the slab floors the work on utilities has progressed with the installation
of HVAC ductwork, plumbing, and laying of electrical cable.
All of the windows have now been installed and the exterior gypsum
board sheathing is complete in prepare for the stucco exterior of the
building. The roof trusses and the framing for the porte-cochere
are being completed. Within a short time crews will begin to
hang drywall.
The Haskell Company’s on-site construction crew publishes periodic updates
on the project's progress. Past “Construction News” bulletins are
posted below. We will continue to post the latest project updates and photos,
so go ahead and bookmark our website so that you can stay abreast of what's
happening.
