Living well isn't just about adding years to life—it's about adding life to your years. And one of the most powerful ways to do that? Stay active.

At Paradise Valley Estates, we believe movement should feel natural, enjoyable, and part of everyday living, not something you have to force into your schedule. That's why our vibrant community in beautiful Fairfield, California is thoughtfully designed to make staying active easy, engaging, and genuinely fun.

Here, "active" doesn't have to mean running marathons. It's about finding your rhythm—through movement, curiosity, connection, and care—and enjoying every step of the journey.

The Joy (and Power) of Staying Active

The great news about movement is this: every bit counts. Whether it's a morning walk, tending to a garden, or joining friends for a game, it all adds up to better health and greater independence.

Experts recommend about 150 minutes of moderate activity each week, along with strength and balance exercises, but think of this as a goal to grow toward, not a rulebook. The real magic happens when movement becomes a natural part of your day.

And the benefits? They're incredible. Staying active can help reduce the risk of falls, support brain health, improve heart health, boost mood, and enhance sleep. Most importantly, it helps you continue doing the things you love, on your terms.

Movement You'll Look Forward To

At Paradise Valley Estates, fitness is designed to feel energizing, not like an obligation.

Our on-campus fitness center offers everything you need, with supportive trainers and classes tailored to all experience levels. Whether you're just getting started or maintaining a lifelong routine, you'll find options that meet you where you are, and help you keep moving forward.

The heated pool is a resident favorite, offering both refreshing lap swims and low-impact water aerobics that are gentle on joints yet wonderfully effective.

Prefer group energy? Join a fitness class that combines cardio, strength, balance, and flexibility, all led by instructors who know how to make every workout approachable and enjoyable.

And outside the gym, the fun continues. Residents gather for bocce, tennis, and pickleball, stroll scenic walking paths, and turn friendly competitions into lively social events. Here, movement and connection happen together, alongside laughter and shared experiences.

Wellness That Goes Far Beyond Fitness

At Paradise Valley Estates, wellness is more than a single activity, it's a way of life. We embrace a whole-person approach that nurtures every dimension of well-being:

  • Physical: Stay strong and mobile with fitness programs, walking paths, and supportive care services.
  • Emotional: Build resilience through meaningful relationships and personal growth opportunities.
  • Social: Enjoy a vibrant community filled with shared meals, clubs, and celebrations.
  • Intellectual: Keep your mind sharp with lectures, classes, book clubs, and creative pursuits.
  • Spiritual: Find purpose and peace through reflection, service, and faith-based offerings.
  • Vocational: Continue contributing through volunteering, mentoring, and resident leadership.
  • Environmental: Thrive in beautifully designed spaces that inspire comfort and connection.
  • Cultural: Celebrate diverse traditions, stories, and experiences together.

Curiosity thrives here. Through Lifelong Learning programs, residents explore new ideas, dive into creative projects, and discover new passions—from art and language to woodworking and beyond.

And with a welcoming, supportive community all around, social connections naturally become part of daily life—whether you're sharing a meal, joining a club, or simply catching up with neighbors.

Plus, the on-site Wellness Clinic, staffed by licensed nurses seven days a week, provides peace of mind. With care just steps away, it's easier to stay focused on living life fully.

Inspired by Northern California Living

Step outside, and the opportunities for staying active expand even further.

Earlier this year, Travel + Leisure named Fairfield the No. 2 best place to retire in California, citing the city's walkability, climate, and access to wine country, healthcare, and the broader Bay Area. With a Mediterranean climate offering mild winters and sunny, dry summers, the outdoors is always calling.

Take a hike, enjoy a round of golf, paddle out for kayaking, or simply savor a peaceful morning walk in one of the area's many parks and preserves. And with wine country and the Bay Area nearby, adventure is always within reach.

As your needs evolve, the PVE @ Home program is there to support you, helping you stay active and independent in the comfort of your own residence for as long as possible.

A Lifestyle That Grows With You

The secret to staying active isn't perfection, it's consistency. It's showing up, trying something new, sharing experiences, and making movement part of everyday life.

At Paradise Valley Estates, everything is designed to support that journey. And over time, those small, joyful choices can lead to something truly meaningful: greater independence, better health, and a richer, more vibrant quality of life.
